Gault&Millau's review 2026

We discovered them, and were rewarded, in the nearby suburb of Bourg-en-Bresse, in Péronnas (la Marelle). Since 2018, the Goiffon couple's story has been written at this charming hotel-restaurant on the outskirts of Mâcon, where our former Grand de demain (in 2011) delivers a fine cuisine without blinkers, at the confluence of the Mediterranean and Bresse regions: beautiful organic egg married to a bean salad with condimented chanterelles; cherry tomatoes and grated summer truffle, a fine tribute to Dombes duckling, worked in several forms and combined with Japanese eggplants with crème de cassis before a sunny dessert designed like a calisson, almonds, apricots and deer mint. Well-priced for what it offers, a well-traveled cellar.
