Gault&Millau's review 2026

For ten years now, Jean-Baptiste Girard and Maïko have been running a fine bistronomic restaurant in the Nivernais countryside, between Nevers and Autun. It's a little hidden nugget, but a happy one, where you'll find the chef's talent for savoury dishes and Maïko's technique for pastries. The restaurant cultivates a strong locavore and seasonal identity. The result is two well-executed menus at €40 and €68, featuring aesthetically pleasing compositions such as pike croustillant with garden sorrel sauce, grilled and glazed Loire Valley asparagus with tansy hollandaise sauce, braised farmhouse pork belly with winter vegetables, caramelized apple tatin and Morvan hay ice cream. Very friendly service. Short, well-crafted cellar.
