Description

Grilled dishes cooked on lava stone—a specialty offered in endless variations according to Chef Emeric Gadreaud’s inspiration and served by Lorine Carteron, the dining room manager. Just outside Angoulême, in the heart of the village between City Hall and the church, the couple curates a menu that evolves with the seasons and highlights the flavors of the Marichar region, all within a setting that subtly blends the charm of this historic stone building with the modern comforts of the restaurant. On the menu: grilled duck breast or grilled andouillette, both served with delicious homemade fries, a salad, and a sauce of your choice—the secret recipe for which is known only to Emeric (tartare, shallot, pepper, or Roquefort). The chef, who honed his skills in French haute cuisine under the guidance of top chefs, will delight you with his signature burger on black bread, butcher’s steak, pan-seared foie gras with baby potatoes, or the catch of the day served with a bell pepper coulis. On sunny days, you’ll have the privilege of dining in the enchanting setting of the flower-filled terrace overlooking the Bandiat, the river that flows through Chazelles. Be sure to follow this restaurant on social media: Facebook (@La Flambée).
