Gault&Millau's review2026
Under the high Art Deco ceilings, the meal begins long before the first bite. Since 1927, this legendary institution has been an integral part of life in the Montparnasse district, and the dining room still carries its energy. There's plenty of movement and chatter, as waiters thread their way between tables, while the central sculpture and seafood display catch the eye. At table, the classics reassure and delight: steaming onion soup, pearly sea bass fillet topped with nantua sauce, crepes Suzette flambéed on the pedestal table before admiring customers. The service is tried and tested, sometimes in a hurry, but the experience is there. You come here to eat, and above all to settle into a living piece of Parisian history.
