Gault&Millau's review2025
For lovers of breathtaking views, La Corne d'Or is the place for you. On the heights of Grenoble, the restaurant welcomes you in a modern dining room whose huge bay windows offer a panoramic view of the valley and the Belledonne mountain range. The shaded terrace enjoys the same conditions. Since January 2024, the Borrel family, who have been in business for over twenty years, have welcomed Théo, their son, into the kitchen. The young chef's guiding principle is modernity, drawing inspiration from Asia and elsewhere, adding an exotic veneer that doesn't seem essential at first glance. On the plate, you'll come across zucchini and beet tartare, accompanied by mustard pickles, kimchi vinaigrette and coriander. The lean meat is wrapped in nori leaves and seasoned with a nettle coulis, leek oil, broad beans and a creamy dashi broth, before a delicious buckwheat sponge dessert with honey fir sprout yoghurt ice cream. Gérard Borrel is as passionate as ever, and will take the time to share his love of natural wines with you.
