There's no point in trying to pretend otherwise: you don't push open the door of La Bonne Excuse to add a new ultra-trendy table to your collection. No extravagant storefront, no luxurious décor, José Cabado in the kitchen and his wife Farida in the dining room prefer to play the simplicity and authenticity card: scallop carpaccio with citrus fruits, monkfish medallion and vegetable tajine with spices, fine apple tart with salted butter caramel, it's a perfectly executed tradition that is put forward here by a chef who knows perfectly well the expectations of his clientele. The cellar is also classic, and Farida Cabado's service is smiling and helpful.
