Gault&Millau's review 2026

Just a stone's throw from the harbor, L'Orangerie offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The dining room is bright, and there's a pleasant terrace set up in the alleyway under beautiful summer awnings. In the kitchen, Julien Lainé champions a modern, precise, and seasonal cuisine, driven by high-quality ingredients and meticulous execution. The amuse-bouche—a house-made focaccia served with tuna rillette—sets the tone. The bluefin tuna tataki, enhanced with a raspberry vinaigrette and a pepper reduction, delights with its freshness and elegant presentation. The organic beef tenderloin, seared to perfection and served with confit eggplant and a truffle jus poured directly at the table, confirms the chef’s mastery of cooking techniques. The dessert, featuring blueberries and buckwheat, skillfully plays with textures. The service is attentive, friendly, and generous, with the chef often present, while the wine list—which focuses heavily on Loire Valley wines—is complemented by a particularly well-curated selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The monthly set menu, priced at €38, offers excellent value for the money.
