Gault&Millau's review 2026

It's a family-run inn in the middle of nowhere, the kind that tells the truth, the only alternative to trendy bistros and boring gastros. The Bataille family has been running the business for a quarter of a century, and everyone pulls out all the stops to make the game a success. In this large dining room with its central fireplace and view of the kitchens, extended by a terrace facing the hills and overlooking the tennis courts, you can savor all this sincerity and kindness, with the Provençal plate (octopus, panisse, compote of eggplant, marinated bell pepper...), the larks and polenta, the "pieds paquets" or the duck breast, the rum baba or the Aix castel of a good and honest "Provençal menu" at €39. You'll notice all the generous details (the fruit placed on each table as a welcome, the little tapenade puff pastries as appetizers, the freshly baked bread, everyone's thoughtfulness...). And the glass of rosé is €5.
