Located in the heart of the town of Douarnenez, in the Hôtel de France, l'Insolite by Gaël Ruscart (who was one of our Young Talents in 2012) offers a consistent cuisine, solidly based on its two toques and relying essentially on noble products and tried-and-tested recipes: (wild) gambas grilled a la plancha, artichoke, black olive purée and grated black truffle, pan-fried filet of saint-pierre, zucchini flower stuffed with mild curry, creamy shellfish sauce, to conclude with a gourmet bourbon vanilla cream, spiced strawberries, pistachio praline, rosemary ice cream and sweet almond emulsion. Classic cellar, relevant choice by the glass.
