Gault&Millau's review 2026

With the opening of this Assiette Normande come two pieces of good news: Honfleur now has an option beyond run-of-the-mill tourist spots, and, as a result, there’s one more great place to visit right in the heart of the hustle and bustle. Sandra and François Dudouit, who have been in the city for about thirty years, created this complex—comprising a hotel, cocktail bar, and restaurant—and had the brilliant idea of entrusting the kitchen to Morgan Socha, a young chef who trained at L’Accolade in Caen. After a modest appetizer, the meal got off to a great start with the confit Cherbourg salmon and tomato gazpacho—tender and perfectly seasoned—followed by a seared pollock, cooked to a pearly finish, served with grilled Swiss chard leaves and carrots, chicken and fish jus, and a lovely finale with this raspberry cream and its excellent ice cream—a dessert created by Marie, the pastry chef. The wine list is fairly extensive, with a decent and varied selection by the glass, and excellent service from the owner herself, who has a gentle and engaging presence.
