A pleasant hotel-restaurant in the heart of the département, La Halte is a recommended choice, for the comfort of its rooms and Gisèle Grangeon's lovely cuisine. The plates reveal a relevant work on the market, in a traditional and well-dressed style. On the €36 menu, pan-fried duck foie gras escalopes, French toast and blueberries, filet of plaice meunière and lemon zest, mixed seasonal vegetables, medallion of local veal, homemade pommes dauphines and thyme jus, flognarde auvergnate with apples, vanilla ice cream and salted butter caramel coulis. Good service.
