Nestled in the countryside, this peaceful, comfortable old farmhouse is the perfect setting for Emmanuel Kouri, a chef as discreet as he is talented ("Grand de Demain" award, Bretagne 2024). While the back room opens out onto nature, the main room offers space and the warmth of its beautiful fireplace when the weather calls for it. Predominantly marine and vegetal, the cuisine bears witness to meticulous sourcing, masterful technique, engaging aesthetics and an inspiration that augurs well for the future. For example, this iodized demonstration, lively and precise, in the form of a combination of bouquet, sea urchin, radish and a sabayon with lemony accents. The same gustatory pleasure is offered by the brioche quenelle of scallops with spinach pesto and an emulsion made from the beards. St. Pierre is prepared with the same gustatory discernment, as is the melting local pork belly flanked by braised rennet, chard embeurrée and oyster jus. All that's left to enjoy is a lovely winter dessert: a spiced cookie with candied ginger and chocolate ice cream, nicely complemented by a "vanilla in love" cream. Smiling service and a wine list that's sure to please without breaking the bank.
