Chef's Restaurant Christophe Marchais, who describes himself as an "agitator of flavors", is the man behind this unique restaurant, which has taken its place in the Castelroussin landscape. In his pretty downtown dining room, he offers a menu-carte that doesn't shy away from the banal, thanks to well-prepared, well-worked plates: smoked carp arancini, beet remoulade, celery cream with horseradish, wild boar confit, chinon and cocoa, pumpkin purée casserole, fig shallot condiment, in a good menu-carte at €37. Some fine dishes at extra charge, such as Normandy scallops or sweetbreads with yellow wine cream and game jus, and ideas of the moment à la carte, such as hare à la royale. Desserts in the same vein, a varied wine cellar and a lunch menu at €24.
