Gault&Millau's review 2026

In the jungle of the Cours Saleya, among a multitude of uneven tables, a spot frequented above all by locals. Almost invisible to tourists looking for a Niçoise salad (with green beans and corn...) to share, Jacques on the terrace, is the brainchild of three friends, Kristen, Théo and Clément, with a simple credo: do it right, do it well, make people come back for more. A year later, the sharing plates are still as punchy as ever: beef samoussas, egg mayonnaise with a detonating nduja sausage and Calabrian spianata, mushroom tart, barbajuans from Les amis d'Aqui, charcuterie and cheeses just the way we like them.. And Jacques, through his chef Santiago Carril, also knows how to offer "bourgeois" and comforting dishes: beef bourguignon, barbecued pork belly, Milanese lamb chop, fillet of saithe with clementine caviar.. Last but not least, our weekly specials include the €15 dish of the day, gnocchi with daube sauce, butcher's steak with pepper sauce and home fries, lasagne, Toulouse sausage au jus and mashed potatoes, or fish and chips on Fridays. As night falls, cocktails are served, with a DJ distilling the good vibes. We finish with a Brie cheesecake and the bill, sweet as a summer's night.
