Gault&Millau's review 2026

This is one of Poitiers' hottest new addresses, opened in 2024 and now enjoying a good reputation. After many years in Paris, Solenne and François Vaudeschamps took over the business with an accomplished and coherent project, a neo-bistro concept emphasizing the quality of local and seasonal produce. The place is nicely kept, with an open kitchen, the service is very well defended by a young woman full of confidence, the plates testify to a real know-how, declined in a menu in five or seven times. The starter of snacked leeks with Nantes butter, pumpkin seed mole and croutons is a good example of smoky taste, while the two-cooked poultry keeps its promise: supreme and leg, oyster mushrooms and shiitake, gastrique sauce with duck juice and sweet potato mousseline. Dessert is also well worth the detour, on this particular day, with strawberry, apple-ginger, fermented mirabelle plum and Breton shortbread. A cellar in the right spirit, with seventy organic and natural references.
