Chef's Restaurant Alina and Philippe wanted to make the Bugatel estate an extension of their childhood memories. After a fire, rather than mourn, they rolled up their sleeves to offer us today a magical little spot on the banks of the Lot. The room is astonishing with its high framework, its vaulted cellar where you can choose your wine, its terraces on the banks of the Lot, and its barge where you can relax with an aperitif. A "sharing" concept, both on the menus and à la carte, such as roast chicken rillettes with smoked salt, creamy Jura cheese roasted with garlic and honey, the Bugatel board (charcuterie, cheese), prime rib of beef by weight and a choice of matured or unmatured meat, a dessert such as Saintt Bugatel. Or, if you're in the mood for seafood, we've got the royal sea bream, a little marvel, served on a large brick of Himalayan salt - the whole ocean on your plate. The largest cheese cloche ever seen will, we're told, be on offer in a few weeks' time.
