Gault&Millau's review 2026

In the famous village, the Hotel de Bastard is one of the most elegant addresses, and fortunately a 3* hotel, to enjoy the classic charm of this XVIIIᵉ century mansion. Its bourgeois interiors have retained the spirit of yesteryear but with updated lines, perfectly introducing Philippe Birckel's traditionally-inspired French cuisine, prepared with modernity. His seasonal menu is convincing: poached egg, meurette sauce and crusty bread, pearl barley-crusted cod, barley-smoked jus, orange oil, crispy potato, sour sauce and trout roe, or duck breast, caramelized endives, duck jus with honey and citrus fruit. Professional service.
