Gault&Millau's review 2026

The Vieux Lyon version of Daniel et Denise also has its charm. The fine works dictated by MOF Joseph Viola are worked as they should be, the atmosphere is just a little more touristy than rue de Créqui, but the fundamentals are there and connoisseurs flock in: oeufs meurette, pâté en croûte, lentil salad with salmon gravlax and cervelle de canut, pièce de cochon confit aux aromates jus porto raisin and a wide choice of good desserts, the île flottante praline, crème caramel and brioche perdue being particularly recommended. The house cellar is always well-stocked, with Fleurie Trénel and Viola, Agnès Paquet burgundies, Montez Rhônes..
