Gault&Millau's review 2026

The pope of Rhone vineyards is not in Avignon, but in Carpentras, in this beautiful house known to all wine lovers, his friends, sommeliers and many of his colleagues who come to enjoy a slice of life for an evening. Serge Ghoukassian has a sense of extended family and good taste at the table, and the yellow sun that adorns the façade (meaning the Gault&Millau plaque) is a fitting sign of recognition. The €39 menu is a good introduction, but regulars prefer to pick and choose from the menu for their market of the day: flan à la brousse et aux herbes cromesquis de joues de cochon et truffes, braised veal chuck ail confit mousseline de pois chiche et feta marinée, risotto de petit épeautre de Sault et noix torréfiées, crémeux citron croquant aux zestes et sorbet persil. The plates are generous, well-crafted and cheerful, and the cellar is obviously extensive and well recommended.
