Gault&Millau's review 2026

At the top of a steep staircase, at the back of a dark room, at the end of an empty street, a surprisingly warm and full bistro appears, like the well-kept secret of a well-informed clientele. Alexandre and Romain, the two buddies who run the place, don't promise anything, but succeed beyond that, by offering a cuisine that's easy to understand and affordable. The strength of their dishes lies in their convincing execution, based on comforting, unifying basics. We appreciate the leek sabayon with sumac and pistachios starter, long on the palate and full of textures, both lively and fatty, generous without being heavy, then the beautiful beef parmentier, which deserves a slightly less liquid potato, but is saved by the effiloché, full-bodied and intense, melting and well-balanced. The chocolate, coffee and hazelnut dessert is more of a snack than a dessert, but makes a fine end-of-meal treat. Winery based in the Loire Valley and mainly focused on organic wines (Huards, Huet, Breton, Villemade...).
