It's the very image of the good brasserie à la rouennaise, with its time-honored dishes that don't need to come out of a false broth to be well done and inexpensive, like celery remoulade, egg mayo, croque-monsieur, snails, mustard sausages, andouillette or apple pie. The big attraction this year is the residency of Rodolphe Pottier, once a four-toque chef at Chez Rodolphe, who offers a special menu three nights a week, giving diners a taste of his talent: asparagus croustillant, foie gras ravioli, lamb shoulder confit, zucchini spaghetti and creamy chickpeas, profiterole with tonka bean. This curiosity is nicely priced at less than €50.
