Gault&Millau's review 2026
Gourmet Restaurant
The boisterous laughter of children discovering the joys of the beach had long since become nothing more than a distant memory. This former summer camp, practically right on the beach at the entrance to the city, was just waiting for someone daring enough to take it on. A chef with extensive experience (Paris, London, Hong Kong…), Frédéric Péneau rose to the challenge. While at first glance the dining room—with its size and boisterously relaxed atmosphere—resembles a cafeteria, it ultimately proves to be full of charm with its large floor-to-ceiling windows, soft colors, furnishings, plates, and beautiful bouquets… The attentive staff puts their heart into their work, showcasing a menu focused almost exclusively on seafood. The daily catch brings in its finest offerings, some meant to be shared, such as grilled fish and lobster served with fries and salad. The crab au gratin has real character, and the “rebosada” hake served with delicious tomatoes showcases true culinary expertise. The desserts keep it simple yet spot-on, like the lemon sorbet softened by a milk mousse. The small wine list is perfectly suited to the dishes.
