Chef's Restaurant
Right in the heart of the village, this house served for many years as a lively gathering place where people could grab a bite to eat, have a drink, and chat. It is now a restaurant. Following a complete yet unpretentious renovation, the dining room has retained all its warm, unpretentious charm. Alice Baloge brings all her cheerful energy to Matthieu Joulin’s kitchen. The ingredients, carefully sourced from local producers, are prepared with great skill. The flavors are there; there’s a real vibrancy. The tuna belly is seared over an open flame. It’s brilliantly complemented by a pairing that bridges a vast geographical divide: the Asian-inspired XO sauce is paired with buttermilk. As for the line-caught hake—impeccable in both freshness and cooking—it showcases coconut, zucchini, and cucumber, enhanced by a very light sauce flavored with seaweed. A comforting and utterly indulgent dessert: rice pudding with tonka bean, salted butter caramel, and buckwheat. The wine list is just about fifteen lines long. Yet you can still find something to your liking!
