In 2018, lifelong restaurateur Maria Bonaventure, with the help of her husband Fabien Bonaventure, took over the Bar des Courriers. She has preserved the spirit of its origins, when the establishment was the town's first bus stop and welcomed departing mountain dwellers, turning it into a bistronomic stopover. In the kitchen, Maria trusts her young chef, Benjamin André, who joined her after a successful career. While he has a predilection for autumn, which offers marvellous forgotten vegetables, Benjamin works passionately with all the seasons. So, depending on the time of year, gourmets and those nostalgic for the meals of yesteryear are in for a treat. From grandma's velouté to alpine egg salad, from veal blanquette to beef bourguignon, beef tenderloin, pike quenelles, crispy cod or the emblematic filet of perch meunière. A feast that concludes with, for example, salted butter caramel puff pastry brioche. Everything is homemade, including the juices and sauces and the bread, made with local organic flour. You'll appreciate the wines from each region, carefully selected and recommended by Maria to match the dishes. We salute her commitment to offering the best at the right price. When the weather's fine, enjoy gourmet moments on the spacious terrace! Open daily, Monday to Saturday, 6am to 8pm and Sunday mornings until 1:30pm.
