Gourmet Restaurant Less than 20 minutes from the center of Nantes, this large house on the banks of the Erdre offers a memorable bucolic break, with views from the terrace over the river and the Château de la Gascherie just opposite. Chef Walter Lescot draws on the region's terroir to produce a cuisine in keeping with the setting, iodine and earth, from free-range eggs to smoked eel, langoustines mayonnaise, sole meunière pomme à l'anglaise, pigeon à la Kiev, hare à la royale and authentic kouign-amann.
