Gault&Millau's review2025
At the foot of the château and overlooking a river, the auberge is the ideal place to linger on the terrace, under the trees, on a summer's evening; in the first mists of autumn, the dining room is welcoming and the cuisine respects seasonality, short circuits and displays the full list of its suppliers; at lunchtime and for €22, you can enjoy roasted butternut with sesame vinaigrette, dried goat's cheese and roasted pumpkin seeds, before a pureed sausage with a taste of childhood and a crunchy chocolate fondant with homemade autumn fruit ice cream; an interesting à la carte menu at around €40. The real highlight is the wine list, one of the finest in Western France, with almost 500 references, and a strong emphasis on the Loire Valley.
