Description

Known as one of the most beautiful villages in the Basque Country, made famous by Luis Mariano, but also for its château, Arcangues is just a stone's throw from Biarritz. It was here, in this mythical Auberge formerly run by the Balerdi-Bonefons family, that Véronique Curveur and Christelle Lascaray took over this institution just over a year ago. An authentic world decorated with antique bascotilles and an old wood-burning stove to welcome you to a warm and welcoming place. In the kitchen, Christelle sublimates the seasons and the local produce: asparagus from the Landes, omelette with ceps from the southwest, fish from Saint-Jean-de-Luz, duck confit, beef, veal, lamb and cheeses from the farm... She prepares preserves in her laboratory which she includes in the Auberge's menu, serving you typical Basque specialties all year round. Surrounded by an excellent team and a young pastry chef, Laura Mendiboure, who rises to the challenge of creativity, Christelle and Véronique welcome you in fine weather under the plane trees of the sublime terrace overlooking the pediment and the Saint-Jean Baptiste church.
