Remarkable Restaurant In the Ried region, Alexis Albrecht is the little prince of gastronomy! He's one of the leading creative chefs on the bangs of Alsatian gastronomy. For more than ten years, this bearded, laughing chef has maintained the legacy of his father, Jean, who passed on his faith and passion for gathering edible herbs and flowers. On the "Plaisir" menu, a change of scenery is guaranteed: thin slices of venison are garnished with sweet-and-sour bear's garlic buds and an abundance of herbs and flowers, the sheer number of which makes gourmets dizzy and impressed. This chef doesn't deny the Transalpine origins of his mother, Lucienne, with these very tasty ravioli that he generously stuffs with pike and Rhine eel; topped with fried onions and Riesling butter, they are a true marriage between Alsace and Italy. He also likes to divide his dishes into several courses, such as the cabri de la ferme du Langthal, which he first accompanies with a nem and a sweet-and-sour elderflower sauce - an amusing fusion between Asia and Alsace - then pays homage to home cooking with a tasty crépinette d'abattis, and finally finishes with the leg and breast, which he enhances with an exquisite jus of well-dosed spicy herbs. Thanks to Alexis' famous dessert festival, the final bouquet is guaranteed: five plant-based desserts follow one another, such as rice à l'impératrice with angelica, gratin with meadowsweet or warm chocolate cookie finely scented with tansy. Évelyne Albrecht supervises a young, shy service and advises on an affordable wine cellar. The gray-toned dining room, with its ornate ceiling evoking the flat-bottomed boats that sail on the Ill River, is an invitation to conviviality.
