Gault&Millau's review 2026

Behind a discreet façade in the Marais district lies a place in a class of its own, built around a glamorous history combining the 80s, fashion, nightlife and, since 2021, the signature of Mauro Colagreco. Transformed in the late 1980s by Carmina Lebrero and her sister into an Argentinian table, Anahi quickly established itself as a cult address. As soon as you cross the threshold, the atmosphere becomes immediately apparent: low lighting, candles, tightly-packed tables and antique earthenware create an intimate, enveloping setting. The tiled ceiling, adorned with a fresco, draws the eye and softens the rigor of the place, bringing a singular touch to this former butcher's shop. The welcome, provided by a manager who is first reserved and then warm, quickly puts you at ease. Service is discreet, but never excessive. The presence of a sommelier, equally at ease with wines and cocktails, is an effective accompaniment to the choices. On the plate, the promise is clear: a cuisine inspired by the chef's Argentinian roots and the ritual of the asado, with some Italian accents, focused on the product. The truffle and provolone empanadas open the meal with a crispy pastry and a melting heart, even if the truffle remains in the background. The absence of a menu in favor of a menu designed for sharing reinforces conviviality. The well-cooked Angus picanha is tender and flavorful, supported by the presence of fat, while the accompaniments are more discreet. The simple, unpretentious layouts emphasize the clarity of the product rather than the stage. The flan mixto to share ends on a regressive note, between the sweetness of vanilla and the generosity of dulce de leche, with an assumed sweetness that is partially tempered by the whipped cream. The wine list, readable but not very adventurous, mixes French classics and Argentine references, with mostly recent vintages and high prices, right up to demonstrative flasks. The cocktails, well executed, are more in keeping with the energy of the place.
