Gault&Millau's review 2026
Chef's Restaurant
The 19th-century former presbytery stands in the center of the village. Its silhouette is imposing. After extensive renovations, there is no trace of its former austerity. The elegant simplicity of the dining room—comfortable and bright, opening onto a charming priest’s garden—seats just over fifteen guests. This is Lauranne’s domain, where she brings her passion, her freshness, and her gentle energy. In the kitchen, her brother, Florian Renaux, is already showing tremendous potential. In fact, he was the 2026 recipient of a Gault&Millau “Young Talent” Award. The concise menu features dishes that are in perfect harmony with the seasons and local ingredients. The compositions are well thought out, executed with delicacy, and delightfully balanced. For example, thin strips of squid are enhanced with seaweed and candied lemon. Peanuts, particularly in the form of an emulsion, round out the dish. The beautiful slab of aged monkfish is accompanied by delicious carrots and an orange blossom sauce seasoned to perfection. The sweetness is judiciously balanced by a few spices and sea fennel. To finish, the rhubarb compote, topped with steamed egg whites and flavored with rose, fully captures the essence of summer freshness. The wine list is short but adequate.
