Remarkable Restaurant Unquestionably one of the finest restaurants on the left bank of the Rhône, just five minutes from the Tête d'Or. The area is rather quiet, and regulars find themselves on familiar, hushed ground, enjoying the finest seasonal produce from fishing, farming and seasonal cultivation. There's not much choice on the menu, but it's top-notch, with langoustines from Brittany, beans and smoked eel with grilled corn sabayon, peaches from Lake Geneva from Eric Jacquier, the purveyor to the stars, snails and vermouth from Chambéry, squab with porcini mushrooms, figs and guanciale. The Essence menu at €140 is well worth the price, thanks to the quality of the plate and the many thoughtful touches, right down to the carefully crafted hibiscus peach dessert. Highly knowledgeable cellar, offering rare vintages from the best owners.
