Chef's Restaurant Béatrice and Yves Kieffer's restaurant has been a trusted address in the Saverne region for over 25 years, in the calm of the invigorating countryside and facing the northern Vosges mountains. A former member of the Tour d'Argent and Marc Meneau teams, this perfectionist puts his meticulous technique at the service of sensual cuisine. Whether in the ornate dining room or on the sunny terrace, the restaurant's reasonably priced menus attract a loyal following. The "seasonal menu" offers a tour of France's regions, with a well-seasoned duck foie gras escorted by blackcurrants, even if the pastry disk on which it rests seemed a little hard to us. The fresh maigre de ligne, worked in the Basque style and served with a chorizo sauce, was very pleasant, if a little timid in taste. Our favorite dish is the lamb composition enriched with panoufle, where olive and tomato add a punchy Provencal accent. We finish with the "mystery": a raspberry compote, coated in coconut cream and paired with an amusing tarragon pistou. Service can be slightly overheated at weekends, but waiting times are kept to a minimum by the fascinating comments of sommelier Christophe Ziegler.
