Chef's Restaurant Here, the dog of the house himself cavers for truffles, and that's saying a lot for this address, which aims to be a faithful tribute to the treasures of the Périgord Noir. The contract is fulfilled by this adorable house two hundred meters from the Dordogne, its splendid terrace with a large fountain at its center, its cuisine celebrating the terroir, and the smiling welcome demonstrating Périgourdine hospitality. Bruno and Lydie Marien run this bourgeois restaurant with perceptible experience, equally at ease in execution and service. The chef masters his cooking and textures, and knows his scores, while the hostess knows how to entertain, and how to advise wine. On the menu that day, a lovely trio of perfect eggs, potimarron and truffle emulsion, a melting veal chuck with truffle arancini and seasonal vegetables, well-balanced jus, a hazelnut chocolate cookie like a rock, particularly filling, with a mandarin sorbet to ease the conscience. Good selection in the cellar, rather generalist.
