Prestige Restaurant In recent years, Michel Sarran's presence on the silver screen, and the humanity and benevolence he exudes, have earned him a reputation among the general public that he had not necessarily envisaged or sought. Yet the man has remained as affable and modest as ever, looking after his house with the same dedication as in his early days, always slipping customers a kind word as they leave, even willingly taking a few selfies in the dining room, without ever appearing annoyed or surprised. Nor has he given in to the temptation to raise his prices, where so many of his colleagues, including local ones, are practicing inflation worthy of the 70s. Colorful, gourmet, joyful, his cuisine pays homage to the accents of song, even if sometimes we'd like it to be a little more contemporary: classic duck foie gras confit with olive oil and tomato water jelly, a clear, straightforward dish, very pretty hake worked with an invigorating sangria sauce, watermelon with old Catalan rancio, spinach shoots and black radish before a classic Aveyron allaiton, roasted hazelnut, Viennoise of piquillos, almonds and cloud of Camargue rice. A pleasant dessert of gariguette and jasmine, both simple and gourmet, and a cheese platter from Xavier's (which we'd like to focus more on regional products), a lovely cellar that has managed to stay affordable.
