Gault&Millau's review2026
In Cambrai's old quarter, on the cobblestoned streets, the Demarcq family, father and son, have been serving traditional cuisine for almost 25 years, revisiting classic dishes in the style of a good family meal. A large bourgeois home where regulars, business people, colleagues and life events mingle around family dishes and their "grandmotherly" accompaniments. There are two atmospheres to choose from: L'Éphémère on the brasserie side, and the gastronomic side, which is quieter during the week, with two four- or six-course menus, or à la carte. It's hard to choose between the carpaccio of langoustines, a regular feature on the menu, their traditional parmesan cream or the lobster in a beautiful view. Veal sweetbreads with pumpkin purée, and prime rib of beef for two with truffle essences compete with the catch of the day, and the millefeuille or citrus cream tartlet round off the meal. Classic wine list.
