Chef's Restaurant It's an understatement to say that Frédéric Barette has changed the face of gastronomy in Amiens. By betting on the product, by putting the natural in an assumed gastro vision, he has brought vigor to a city that was purring with ficelle picarde and gâteau battu. And if a reader finds this cuisine a little "fussy", we'd add that it's the chef's honor to offer a version that's worked to his idea, and here without any excess of sophistication: thus the zucchini flower stuffed with crustaceans, langoustine foam, haddock ravioli with skin powder and Timut pepper, roasted monkfish with gribiche and coconut cake jus, concluding with mara des bois. The Grand Menu is a seven-course meal, but you can opt for four or five courses, at prices that are still a long way from Paris. Well-viewed and interesting cellar, lunch menu €36.
