Exceptional above all for its setting, Le Train Bleu is one of France’s most legendary restaurants, renowned for its sumptuous Art Nouveau decor, designed for the 1900 World’s Fair. With its moldings, gilded details, crystal chandeliers, and wall frescoes, Le Train Bleu is a museum of decorative arts in its own right—one that you can explore while passing through the station. The menu features recipes by Michel Rostang, ranging from classics to dishes with prices that are certainly on the high side—but the results are well worth it. Dishes include morel fricassee with vin jaune and sweet onion cream, a whole roasted sea bream Provençal-style, a Niçoise vegetable tian, a roasted leg of lamb with gratin dauphinois, and a pistachio and sour cherry soufflé. The service is impeccable.
