One of Strasbourg's best-loved wine bars, Purgatoire is the place to meet friends in the heart of the Krutenau, with its large terrace and cosy interior, all wood, wine-filled shelves and leather seating. To accompany the 180 or so wines in the cellar, a small kitchen is available for sharing: charcuterie and cheese boards, mimosa egg, eggplant caviar with cumin, Greek salad, Italian-style croque-croissant, roast duck fillet, artichokes, olives, lemon and rosemary, pastilla-style sea bream, Catalan-style crème brûlée, banana bread-style strudel.
