Gault&Millau's review 2026

This sturdy house on a branch of the River Loir remains the gastronomic spearhead of this corner of the Sarthe, providing yet another reason to stop off in the town of the famous prytanée. Karoline and Camille Constantin welcome a loyal local clientele, logically attracted by the very successful combo between a cuisine of products with its share of well-distilled prestige and a shimmering wine list featuring a number of grape varieties typical of Madame's native Austria, who knows how to make interesting pairings. With, for example, the crispy citrus gambas with pesto sauce or the foie gras and sucrine with balsamic, the tuna ventrèche plancha or the veal and caponata from a good €63 menu, rounded off with a chocolate moelleux.
