Gourmet Restaurant Something new is in the air in Avignon: last autumn, Joris Tixador and his partner Andréa took over the former Avenio to set up a promising young restaurant under the name forged by their initials. Promising, because our first visits showed us the energy and enthusiasm of the beginnings, and some nice sensations on the plate, notably through a good €45 menu that situates the house and its chef: grilled mackerel, monkfish shellfish salad with marinière emulsion, parsnip and hay veal, coconut carrot and coriander. There's still a lot to be done in the pretty parquet-floored dining room, for example in the cellar, but the adventure is off to a good start.
