Gault&Millau's review2025
This grand Saint-Michel boasts a unique location, with its vast shaded terrace facing the mythical château. It also benefits from the year-round care of chef Rita Silva, who welcomes an international and tourist clientele by showcasing local produce (bread from a nearby bakery, vegetables from the Chambord kitchen garden, honey from Cour-Cheverny...) in a cuisine that's well mastered but a little too tame: œuf parfait façon meurette, Gâtinais poultry, celeriac and hollandaise sauce and tatin with caramel and cider vinegar sauce. Beautiful dining room with noble wood panelling (but tables too close together), friendly but somewhat amateur service, pretty view of the château from some tables.
