Chef's Restaurant Located on a lively street, this restaurant run by Camille Leblanc and Nicolas Koffel exudes energy. After a stint in the Basque country and Canada, Nicolas Koffel now delights Strasbourg's lovers of inventive flavors. This inspired chef harmonizes flavors and textures with ease. Behind minimalist titles lurks a surge of often Asian flavors: redfish is paired with coconut milk and ginger vinaigrette, and roasted cashews. The wild meagre, fresh and precisely cooked, is sublimated by a Tom Kha Kaï shellfish sauce, with a well-balanced curry. Roasted Aberdeen Angus rib steak is served on a potato puck, again with just the right amount of curry and a well-reduced red wine jus. We finish on a high note: the marbled rhubarb and bergamot moelleux, dipped in white chocolate and almonds, is topped with a diplomatic bergamot mousse, well-balanced and very gourmet. It is accompanied by a sorbet and rhubarb compote. The wine list is in the same vein, with a focus on discovery, and is advised with verve. Of the 40 wines on offer, 25 are available by the glass. Following renovation work in 2023, the tightly-packed décor has been refreshed and the kitchens moved to the first floor. However, please ask to be placed in the room on the second floor.
