Gourmet Restaurant This century-old house has all the cachet of a post house of yesteryear, on the edge of the village, announcing the forest. It has evolved over the last few decades to become once again an indispensable base for Perche walks. At the table, the cuisine is a little more formal than one would expect from a rustic restaurant. The intentions are laudable, to showcase the local produce, unfortunately a little forgotten by an overload of ingredients and frills that end up diminishing the right taste: carrot declination, pickled tartlet, purée and ice flan with Digny mustard, haddock and candied kumquat, brioche-coated Loire pike-perch bread, rather successful in its softness, crispy smoked eel with shellfish sauce and ricotta-stuffed rigatonis (overcooked, too dry, too bland), piquillos and zucchini tagliatelle. Desserts also well prepared (fig and Perche honey, vanilla ganache, honey tuile). Diligent young service, charming owner, good organic Perche cider.
