Remarkable Restaurant All the lights are green! The green of the garden and surrounding countryside is matched by the dominant green of the interior decor, but also by the green of the largely plant-based inspiration of a marine cuisine that is visually reflected so beautifully in the composition of the dishes. Perigordian chef Emmanuel Kouri, who trained with the likes of Alléno and Frechon, left Paris (restaurant Les Climats) for this house of character between land and sea. A soberly elegant and comfortable room, a soothing atmosphere, a few glowing logs in the fireplace if the weather permits, a few discreet notes of jazz, a terrace for fine weather... Everything is in place to immerse yourself happily in the world of this talented chef. The amuse-bouches herald a wonderful feast, immediately confirmed by the superb mackerel fillets licked with high-precision flame (and lacquered with just the right amount of tandoori). The contrast with the sweetness of the peas and the acidity of the sorrel is highly relevant. We could also mention the langoustine, just landed in the port of Guilvinec, or the monkfish, bursting with freshness and impeccably cooked. It is highlighted by a few cockles, brocoletti and a well-balanced Paloise sauce with a good dose of peppermint. If the kiwi dessert - which has become very fashionable - is an exquisite moment of freshness, gourmandise is also expressed by another classically-inspired dessert that finely combines coffee and chocolate in a perfectly unctuous marriage. Smoked vanilla tactfully plays the role of matchmaker. To break up the flavors, the whole is enhanced by delicious caramelized pecans. As for the sommelier, his fine moustache curls as he presents the menu. From more modest appellations to major labels, there's something for everyone, at prices that start very reasonably: Touraine by JF Mérieau, Muscadet by Louise Chéreau, Cheverny by P. Tessier, Baux-de-Provence Château Romanin, Arbois by Jérôme Arnoux, Faugères by Guillaume Gangloff, Gevrey-Chambertin by Dominique Gallois, Chassagne-Montrachet by Domaine Moingeon André et Fils... In short, the cellar matches the cuisine!
