Remarkable Restaurant There's no doubt about it, Jan Hendrik Van der Westhuizen has made a lasting impression, reminding us in some respects of the Jouni of twenty years ago, on the same street. The same respect for the product, the same strong identity attached to its roots (even if South Africa and Finland aren't exactly the same latitude), and the same uncompromising imagination in these well-crafted menus. Admittedly, the €165 price tag for the menu is an investment, but it's one made in a rather unique experience, in terms of flavors, creativity and a change of scenery, against a very solid technical backdrop: with tuna with sago and rooïbos, scallops with caviar and lemon meringue, the must-try biltong (beef jerky) with brioche and coriander, the marriage of corn and whelk, the "pomme gelée" with velouté and quail egg, the Charolais foie gras and truffle and the pineapple dessert, not forgetting of course the essential visit to the cheese dairy opposite the restaurant to smell and choose from the almost one hundred cheeses. Two menus at €165 and €195 cover all the bases, and the cellar is well stocked with fine labels.
