Chef's Restaurant As the years go by, Ivan Vautier remains the leader of Caen's restaurant scene, offering what more modern establishments often lack: consistency and reliability. Close to Caen's ring road and easy to reach, this plush, bourgeois establishment has everything to reassure: a high-class welcome, comfortable dining and an eloquent menu that showcases fine products, such as lobster with raw and cooked vegetables and orange sorbet, turbot cooked with seaweed butter and potato and sea snail court-bouillon, roasted sweetbreads with cuttlefish viennoise and cider vinegar-smoked butter. Ivan's menu is a fine composition in a very equitable price range (even the accompaniment of five glasses of wine for €47 is recommendable), and the desserts, particularly the puff pastries, look good. A complete and classic wine cellar.
