Gault&Millau's review 2026

Once again, owner Omar Abodib had to restructure, recruit and re-form teams in this beautiful villa on the heights of Etretat. The view of the town and the sea is still sublime, the dining room designed by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is full of charm, and the clientele is well represented, the place being very suitable for romantic weekends. The new chef, Killian Alain, can flourish here, while in the dining room, they try to ensure with good will, in an overall service of provincial hotels where some premium elements are missing. The gastro codes are there nevertheless, with a plethora of appetizers, a pleasant starter of eggplant, coffee and cardamom, with small dots and small emulsions, a slightly soft pollack, seaweed tartare and bone juice well seasoned with gherkins and dulse purée, a little Sturia caviar on top for richness, with the chef himself presenting the rabbit, clearly the best dish of the evening, crunchy green beans coulis poivron jus réduit, all preceded by a delicate consommé. Pleasant dessert of peach, red wine, sorrel and tarragon, a touch too sweet, extensive and well-marketed cellar with fashionable names, a small selection by the glass, awaiting a sommelier, sustained bill for a seven-course menu detailed in three menus, from €69 to €149.
