Chef's Restaurant The charm of the Passage des Panoramas, the romantic ambience of a former Parisian engraver (the place is listed), redesigned when it opened by Philippe Stark, Venetian-inspired cuisine, and now the Caffè Stern is back among the most interesting Italian restaurants in Paris. The remarkable technique surrounding simple spaghetti carbonara from the sea or a perfectly cooked veal sweetbread Milanese are testament to this, as is the greediness of every bite of the regressive zuppa inglese. On the other hand, the service, as in touristy places, is not overflowing with effort when it comes to the human touch. A short Italian cellar offering a glimpse of the transalpine vineyards.
