Gourmet Restaurant Between the Hostellerie Jérôme in La Turbie and Racines, the vegetable garden restaurant in Nice, Bruno Cirino has his hands full, but he's not abandoning his beloved Café de la Fontaine on the ancient Roman road, the immutable temple of Provencal bistro cuisine. Humble and discreet, just like the chef himself, the cuisine focuses on the finest market produce. The daily menu offers the best of the region, based on simple suggestions. Vegetable soup with pistou, welcoming spring, melt-in-your-mouth Piedmont-style rib steak with maître d'hôtel butter, salmon escalope just snacked with mussels, caramelized apple tart with almond cream, a delight even better than a tatin. The wine list is short but passionately selected by Marion Cirino. Lovely sunny terrace and attentive service.
