Gault&Millau's review 2026

Véronique and Stéphane Anastasi, chef and maitre d' respectively, took over this traditional inn last year, and everyone is settling in to this small village near Chinon. A limited choice on the menu, with two starters, two main courses and two desserts, available in a three-course menu at €45. The food is just right, with good cooking and seasoning; the service is pleasant, if sometimes hesitant. The whole still lacks coherence, and its personality will become more refined with time. Main course: prawns from New Caledonia (a little far from Sazilly for a cuisine that describes itself as "authentic and local") flambéed on the plate, served with saffron risotto; dessert: pineapple vacherin with vanilla syrup and coconut chantilly, a fine balance of textures and temperatures, beautifully presented. An effective wine list, featuring Chinon wines.
